Dave moved to Barrie in 1989 and quickly became immersed in the region's growing construction industry. He began his career framing homes before moving into estimating and design for a local roof and floor truss company. It wasn't long before he transitioned into sales across Central Ontario, where he discovered a passion for helping people and building lasting relationships.

His career naturally evolved into contractor building supply sales, where he estimated and supplied complete residential projects. Working alongside builders every day sparked a new ambition—to build homes of his own. One home turned into many, and Dave went on to purchase 60 estate lots, build custom homes, and gain firsthand experience in every stage of the construction process. That foundation gave him an in-depth understanding of what makes a home well built—knowledge that continues to benefit his clients today.

While Dave loved the construction industry, he found himself drawn to the opportunity to guide people through one of life's biggest decisions. In 2009, he earned his Real Estate Licence, and together with his wife Amanda, founded The Walker Team. Combining expertise in construction, accounting, mortgages, and real estate, they built a boutique team dedicated to making every step of the buying and selling journey as seamless, informed, and rewarding as possible.

Today, The Walker Team is truly a family business. Their daughter Alysha is a licensed REALTOR®, while their youngest daughter, Kayla, supports the team whenever she is home from university, where she is pursuing a career in nursing. Together, they share a commitment to serving their community with integrity, professionalism, and genuine care.

With decades of experience in construction, home building, and real estate, Dave offers clients a unique perspective that extends far beyond the transaction. His ability to evaluate how a home is built, recognize long-term value, and negotiate confidently gives clients an advantage throughout the process. He has a knack for explaining even the most complex parts of real estate in a way that feels approachable—without ever making clients feel overwhelmed.

Outside of work, Dave enjoys spending time with Amanda and their family, connecting with friends through church, and giving back to the community that has supported The Walker Team for so many years.
